For those who are following this story about an Irish priest, I have what I find to be a very sad and depressing update.
I wrote him this huge letter, like 4 pages long, in Irish, thanking him and encouraging him, updating him on my life and how his gift impacted me. I had pictures made up for him, a recent family one and one from back then to help him remember me.
As I was searching online for his address or how to find his address, I found not an address, but
a death and burial notice. *sigh*
I missed the boat big time on that one, and feel like the hugest heel around. I missed him, simply because I didn't get around to it in time. I get a sick stomach every time I think about it.
So the message today is: just like those often cheesey forwards that tell you to tell your family you love them etc, I'm saying don't procrastinate! If you have a loose end to tie up, get after it. Don't leave 'em hanging.
You really never know how much time you have.

Yes Jenni, that was the way i left it at my mom's funeral. While i spoke about her & the many things i loved about her, impact on life, etc..........but the main point was "if you love someone, SAY IT.. OFTEN". THERE IS NO FATEL DOSE of saying "I love you", it simply cannot be said TOOOOO MUCH. No one EVER died from being told 'I love you'. I said it to mom every time i went to visit her (which sadly was not every day) and although sometimes she was unable to respond with words consistantly, because her brain was fried (thank you aluminum), she was able to muster a smile, a twinkle in her eye & always wanted a kiss. Oh yeah & she always did that "finger point" thing that rappers do when they are being "kuel".
I even told her while sitting next to her in her coma, waiting for her to take her last breath, knowing only that her spirit would hear & not her flesh.
Bottom line is: our life is a vapor & The Word tells us we are not promised our next breath. So every chance you get.............. SAY I LOVE YOU (you mite even try it back to back). There is a commercial in the States, i think it's about insurance, that tells us, "Life comes at you fast".
Well(note to self) "So does death".
Don't let it catch you with 'unsaid' I love you's. And having said all that.
I love you Jenni, precious daughter-0-mine. And i promise, i miss you as much as you miss me.
